Land Of Seven Rivers is a community of people drawn from many walks of life and faith traditions. We celebrate the diversity of creative expression across the body of Christ, and we are committed to the authentic expression of worship to the Lord of Heaven and Earth.
We come with one aim, to know and be known by the ever-loving, ever-lasting Father, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. As part of our expression of worship, we desire to see people released into the rest and rhythm of God. Our hearts longing is that all of us would abide in Him, commune with Him, sing to Him and hear what He is singing over us. Abiding is becoming a lost art in the western world. We are so often about doing the will of the Father that we forget that first and foremost, we are made for relationship with Him and each other. Abiding means to dwell, to remain, to continue, to stay. |

Both King David of the Old Testament and our Lord, Jesus Christ, knew that abiding, remaining, soaking in the presence of the Lord was the key to life.
It was from times of soaking that David was able to pen Psalm 23. Psalm 23 The Message "God, my shepherd! I don't need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, You find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath And send me in the right direction. Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I'm not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd's crook makes me feel secure. You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing. Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I'm back home in the house of God for the rest of my life." |
Like David, we have discovered the rhythm and rest of God through His creation, through the rhythms of nature.
Jesus Himself invites us into this rest and rhythm. This revelation of rest and rhythm has led to the creation of music based in the sounds and rhythms of nature. God is our very breath, the reason for our existence, and it is our joy to create spaces for people to encounter His love, mercy and grace.
Matthew 11:28-30 The Message
"Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

beginnings
In 2010, Andee felt the Lord asking him to go and listen to the sound of the river. Having no clear vision for why, Andee spent the next three months faithfully taking walks beside the Dandenong Creek in Melbourne, Victoria and listening to the flow of the water.
During this time, Andee began to explore the idea of merging the sounds of nature with the sounds of worship. He developed the foundation of worship using the rhythms of the river and creation in place of the more conventional bases of drums and bass. In keeping with the simplicity of the sounds of nature, we have resisted the temptation to over complicate the sound of our worship. The songs we have recorded are not about you encountering us as musicians and singers; but rather about you having a deep, rich encounter with our Heavenly Father. We have purposely left spaces for you to incline your ear to hear His voice or to sing your song to Him. |
andee's reflections
"I've always been fascinated by the sound of a river because with it comes life. On our journey, as we wight to bring out the sounds of the rivers and let their currents flow through our music into the mountains around Melbourne, we discovered that Victoria has seven major rivers.
These rivers carry life to the communities of Victoria, so we are happy to be known as people from the Land Of Seven Rivers. While we know this to be a natural phenomenon, we understand this can be the same in the spiritual realm.
We declare that the spiritual land of seven rivers comes alive in you as you encounter the spiritual foundation of this music. We release living waters to wash over and through you as a listener, reviving you, bringing peace and rest into your world and setting you free to encounter the Lord God more fully and deeply."

the seven rivers
Seven major rivers flow through the State of Victoria, Australia. They are the Murray, Goulburn, Ovens, Yarra, Snowy and La Trobe Rivers. These waterways bring life to the land we inhabit and are the reason we record under the name of Land Of Seven Rivers.
